Transmitting your message to hearing aid users
Whatever your organisation or event, you run the risk of alienating people with hearing difficulties who may not be able to fully hear your message. This can easily be avoided with the introduction of an induction loop.
What is an induction loop and how does it work?
An induction loop allows an audio signal to be sent directly to a hearing aid, while eliminating or suppressing any background noise.
An induction loop is simply a cable, or loop, that encircles a ‘listening area’. An amplifier connects to your sound system (for example your PA system) and the loop produces a magnetic field that can be picked up as sound by a hearing aid.
Portable induction loops can be used for:
- Conferences
- Exhibitions
- Fashion shows
- Weddings
- Live events
Permanent induction loops are used for many types of premises, including:
- Government buildings
- Hospitals and doctors’ surgeries
- Hotels
- Museums
- Theatres
- Leisure centres
- Retail outlets
